the free-school womens issues classes are going great!
the last 2 had really good turn out, good mix of girls of different ages, diff. backgrounds. I talked about fertility- the ways to tell when you are ovulating. how to keep track of your cycle: the calender method, the mucous method, and basal body temperature method. incedently, before i looked it up, i thot that meant taking the temp of your vagina. heheeee. nope, it just means your oral temp before you get out of bed right when you wake up.
then Danica talked about her abortion, what it was like, the procedures, and how she feels about it now.
Then....we made the boy who came leave for awhile so we could talk about: Masturbation!
its so amazing being in a roomful of girls who you know (some of them) dont usually talk about this, breaking down barriers of shame and embarrassment.
also, ive finally given myself a haircut i absolutely love, all by my self. yay! im still damn proud of the fact that ive never paid for a haircut, even tho i had to suffer thru a lot of horrible ones. now i can do it myself!
and i still cannot remember how to do a cut. can anyone out there remind me, pretty please? its for the good of all, you know.
