last night i dreamt in broken french. i was a ballerina inside a musical jewelry box, but instead of being inside the jewlery box i slept on top of it.

the past few days i've just been doing the things that are too arduous to do when you're sick (which is practically...well, everything. even putting on socks was hard.) i washed my sheets, made my bed, did my laundry, took a shower, washed my hair, brushed teeth, and then i sat around all day. shaun came over and we watched hitch hiker's guide to the galaxy. being sick is so much better when one has another to be sick with.

today was the first day of school. after rising at the early hour of eight in the a.m. and getting out of the house by nine (and feeling better than i have in a week), i realized that my nine thirty yoga class was at the san ramon campus, so it seems i've been duped again. no dvc yoga for me. ironic how yoga classes have caused me nothing but stress. oh well - now for plan b, a yoga class that i actually have to pay for.

ethnic patterns was fine. the professor is having us use his book for course reading, but since he laughs abundantly and is willing to listen, it's forgivable. philosophy of religion was a bore. the professor is a duddering old fellow who dyes his hair but not his beard and laughs at his own jokes. oh well. these are about as interesting as general ed classes go. world myths is tomorrow night. hopefully it will be more fun?

my ethnic studies professor did make an amazing point. so many americans go into something because they want to be doing something else, and end up forgetting how amazing the present is. so making the present a better place to be as opposed to looking forward to escaping into my future has become a high priority.

all in all, school was very bleh. but seeing dayana, jordan, as well as angie and chatting it up made up for it. plus reading lamb : the gospel according to biff, christ's childhood pal in the sun wasn't half bad either. everyone should give it a chance if they've got the time, never in my life have i has such an excellent time reading about the life of jesus, i mean joshua.

"You know, we are going to have start working soon," Joshua said.
"I won't see you, once I'm working with my father."
"Joshua, look around you, do you see any trees?"
"No."
"And the trees we do have, olive trees - twisted, gnarly, knotty things, right?"
"Right."
"But you're going to be a carpenter like your father?"
"There's a chance of it."
"One word, Josh : rocks."
"Rocks?"
"Look around. Rocks as far as the eye can see. Galilee is nothing but rocks, dirt and more rocks. Be a stonemason like me and my father. We can build cities for the Romans."
"Actually, I was thinking about saving mankind."
"Forget that nonsense, Josh. Rocks, I tell you."

and....

"God is willing to forgive you the sin that you carry for being a child of man, but you must forgive yourself for having once been a child."

when i returned home shaun told me i was an evil temptress and he bought me a sandwich.
