So I realized most of the people I consider my TDF peers are now more or less gone from TDF. Can you give me a few sentences as to "what happened" or what, if anything would bring you back? Did you outgrow it? Did you get a life? Get into a fight?

Basically: What would make TDF "better"? New rules, less rules, new mods, more mods, new look? Should ( Read more... )

I stopped posting because I stopped having things to say. I feel like in a community there should be a ratio of "posts about me" to "posts that engage with other people", and I simply couldn't pull it off anymore X3 Weren't a lot of daemon-related discussions to join in, weren't a lot of debates to participate in, and TS/Shout...oi. Too much. Too many. Can't respond to one without feeling guilty about ignoring the others, and short of copy-pasting, "That sucks, and I wish it wasn't happening to you" over and over there is no way to respond to everyone. And then there's the cringe-factor of seeing young folk shift from happy newbies to frequenting those threads! I don't think it's so easy as saying oh my, look at the little children wanting to be join in; there's something about seeing thousands of pages filled with sad thoughts that starts to breed sad thoughts in your own head and yeah, that worries me.

I don't really begrudge the younger folk their excitable threads and 'silly' discussions though, because heck, that was me once and I certainly had plenty of fun. I do miss being part of an active community sometimes, buuut I have stuff to do in the real world and I'm not really looking to form new bunches of buddies, so I'm alright with them running amok.
