HEY. Fucking read this.

So I realized most of the people I consider my TDF peers are now more or less gone from TDF. Can you give me a few sentences as to "what happened" or what, if anything would bring you back? Did you outgrow it? Did you get a life? Get into a fight?

Basically: What would make TDF "better"? New rules, less rules, new mods, more mods, new look? Should ( Read more... )

I'd support getting rid of GC, in all honesty. :/ I know people need to vent about things, but again, there are other outlets such as livejournal. And given that we have so many younger kids seeing all that stuff, it probably does influence them. I think it'd be good to at least get rid of Shout/TS, or start new threads? Not sure. They're just cesspools of negativity, and it /is/ depressing.

I'd also definitely like for there to be more debate and actual discourse, rather than the "post once and you're done" stuff. DC, at least, seems mostly full of the "my daemon did/said/whatever" threads that are sort of spammy, and there aren't many discussions about interpretation or anything else deeper than just "omg my daemon said he lurves me."

Newer people have also been popping into threads and saying things they can't back up and have no argument for (i.e. Mi of Kasios, she comments on RAs all the time but does not really have a basis for her formfinding), but no one discusses things when they say that. And I'm sure it confuses the other newer people. The older people of the forum say one thing, but then newer people go around saying different things, and it's sort of a mess. I think debate/discussion would at least help that? I've stayed away from discussion mostly because I feel like I'd just look like I was noobhunting, but I do think better discussion needs to occur. And I'd be more willing to engage in it, if it was a more common practice and I wouldn't look like an asshole. :'D

I think getting rid of ALL of GC is a a lot, especially since we're all friendly and like talking about doctor who and sherlock and whatnot. Top Secret needs to die, but we can keep from going overboard in casual conversations.

**getting rid of Shout/TS

Sorry, typo on my part. XD Wasn't paying attention. Getting rid of Shout/TS is what I'd like, not the entirety of GC. I should actually pay attention to what I am typing. ._.

Lock TS and Shout. Lock the FUCK out of them. It's really getting unnerving in there, and it feeds on itself.

Yes please. I don't even go into those cesspits of posts anymore like I used to. .___. There's NOTHING of merit in there anymore, and even with the Spam Shout thread people STILL post one-lined petty things like "fuck you" or "SCREAMING" or something stupid. Just lock those, I want to look at happy, every day things in General Chat. It's GC, not, "vent out all your frustrations and feelings~" chat.
