"He's given up trying to get at the reasons she keeps doing this kind of thing, sometimes he thinks it's enough that he's the one she calls when she gets into trouble. And then he realises that that's kind of pathetic, actually, and tries to determine the logistics of honestly kicking yourself so hard it hurts."
oh god, that line, SO perfect.
this is really amazing. love the way you've woven helo into the story.
I have to choose a quote this time. This snippet here:
He feels like she is ten different people, hard and jagged and rowdy and ruthless and scary and sparkling and joyful and warm and magnificent, and this impish creature now barrelling into him from every direction and grasping his arm to stop herself from falling off the curb is so vastly different from the menacing woman he met earlier tonight in her quarters that he can't help wandering how many more different versions of her he has yet to see.
It is absolutely gorgeous. You have so perfectly captured the Kara for Season 1 (as I think of her as many different people as the seasons change). I love this younger, but equally damaged, version of her. Love also the way you've woven this narrative. Lovely job! RUNS TO READ MORE!
Oh I love this scene :) It was one of the first ones I wrote and the image just stuck with me.
I am so in love with the (what's the multiple for duality? is there one? whatever it is, insert word here) of Starbuck. The many different things that she can be, the hundred different variations of her that are all equally her and equally wonderful, it's just fascinating.

I love Karl Agathon. For real. He just had to be part of it, no matter how little sense it makes :D
