Gearing up for Xmas/PLUS thoughts on 20th Anniversary of The Little Mermaid
Well another Christmas season is on the way, and as a mall worker, I know what is coming. Insane shoppers are a dime-a-dozen, but I never got "Black Friday". Why anyone after Thanksgiving would like to shop for something only to find that it's sold out is beyond me. But with the current economy, it probably helps.
Now on a lighter note, tomorrow is the 20th Anniversary of the movie that brought Disney back from the brink of extinction, The Little Mermaid. Many of us know it by heart, and myself I got all three movies. Just think, twenty years later, the movie is still fresh in 2009 as it was in 1989. Too bad Howard Ashman never lived to see this day, but I am sure somewhere he is celebrating with the rest of us.
