Anniversary of Sorts

It is now one week since I became unemployed. I wake up every morning (or afternoon) checking my email and checking the Dice website to see if there is any change or anyone who can get me a new job. It's pathetic.

Who is to BLAME? I guess Arnold, our Terminator. I guess I have been "Terminatored". Now, the idiot wants to lay off all of these state workers and those who stay are going to get minimum wage. So much for that Child Support system going on line on-time. My contract, as well as the contracts of others, was terminated because of the budget issue. I guess I can't blame the people over at L.A. County but Arnold just isn't listening to me this time. How sad. When he was last having money issues, I told him to look to education. So he wanted to fire teachers. I wrote him and told him that that was not what I meant; he just needed to audit L.A. U.S.D., and that is what he did. Did he fix anything? No but they do know thatmoney was disappearing there. With this budget crisis, I told him that he needs to get the $9 billion that Grey Davis was going to get for us from the energy companies that ripped-off the state of California. Looks like Bush got to him and that didn't happen (heard about it in the news the next day though). Should I write him again and remind him that there is still $9 billion out there waiting for us? No, he'd rather be a Republican.

The consulting company that I work/worked for has been passing my resume to various places. I even had one interview, but I suspect it didn't go that well. There is another one coming up that I'm a "shoe-in" for so we'll see how that goes. Another consulting firm wanted to offer me $180,000 per year for this job.

I even submitted an application for Microsoft but I really don't intend to work for the evil empire. Being a hypocrite would be the least of issues doing that. So one week down and probably a month or so to go. At least I think I have enough money to last through August.

Nite, all.
