Proposal

If you aren't a fan of m/m/m relationships, then this is not for you.  Everything is worksafe.

Dolls in this photoshoot are David (DoD DoI Luke ver.2), Lugh (Dollshe Hound), and Teru's Aedan (Luts Senior Delf body with a Luts Summery '09 event head)

David's faceup is stock, shirt and bracelet by me, necklace by Skada, rosary by Teru.  Aedan's faceup is custom by Teru, shirt by Manderskoinu, choker and bracelet by me, rosary by Teru.  Lugh's faceup is custom, shirt, corset, and necklace part of the Colors line on DoA.  Rings are from HighPriestessIce on DoA

Lugh has been scheming something for months now...

It was a crisp afternoon, the first sign of spring after a bitterly cold winter, and while the temperatures were nice the wind was still biting.  Lugh had gotten reservations at a semi-private outdoor cafe...

"I don't think he's coming," David said, swirling his empty glass absently.  He was a strange cocktail of emotions today, somewhere between aggitated and simply... broken.  He'd been increasingly more distant, even on the nights that Aedan slept over.  And with Lugh acting stranger and stranger by the day...  Aedan was beginning to think that something had happened and he'd just missed the train on it.

There wasn't another table in view with patrons, and the place could have easily been mistaken for closed save for the waiter that seemed far more interested in staying out of their way than actually serving them.  Aedan couldn't blame the poor waiter, he'd gotten glared at when he'd even hinted that perhaps their friend had forgotten about their reservation.  David had growled out, "He'll come," but that had been almost a half hour earlier.

"I'm sure he has a reason," Aedan tried, cautiously, to diffuse the frustration they were both feeling.  "Maybe we should just order something, even just an appetizer..."

"You don't make enough to pay for both of us," David didn't even really look at him when he responded.  What he said was true, though; Lugh had certainly chosen somewhere with a price tag.  Aedan didn't especially want to think about how Lugh intended to cover the check in the first place.

"Let's give it a little longer, okay?"

David didn't respond, ignoring Aedan fidgeting with his hands.  The waiter attempted to move in their direction with a water pitcher for refills, but was once more stared down at a distance by David.

Aedan saw him first, offering Lugh a small smile.  "You look nice," he commented, trying to smooth over the calculated look that David was giving their boyfriend.  Lugh was having trouble meeting David's gaze, clearly feeling a little guilty, and kept fingering the hem of his new shirt.

"I'm sorry I'm late.  I was...busy," he tried.

"For all this time after the reservation you made?" David chided him, still doubting.  If Lugh had just forgotten, that would have been fine.  Just don't lie about it.  "With what?" David asked, shaking his head faintly.  Lugh had never exactly been reliable, but he was when it counted.  This... just wasn't like him.

Lugh fidgeted with his shirt a bit more, this time on the opposite side.  He slid his hand into his pocket, pulling something out.

"With this," he answered, kneeling in the same movement he pulled a second thing from his pocket.

"I've been wanting to ask this for a very long time...  But the modern customs escaped me," the Irish God smiled, looking down at the two silver boxes he held in his hands.  He opened them, one at a time, very carefully.  "Will you marry me?"

Aedan gasped, quietly.  David's anger... simply melted.

Lugh waited, far more nervously than he'd ever admit.

"Please tell me someone has something to say," Lugh chuckled anxiously, looking from Aedan to David.  He hadn't exactly expected frozen silence to his answer.

Aedan moved first, dropping the hand from his face to show his blushing smile.  Biting his bottom lip, he got to his feet and moved around the table.  "Yes," he said earnestly, "Oh, yes."  It was the sort of breathless reply that Lugh had always thought he'd receive from him, stumbling so much over the idea that there weren't more sounds to his words.

David's chair tipped as he got up, Aedan's words stirring him from shock to movement.  He wrapped his arms around Lugh, as Aedan had.  He felt like an ass, taking all of Lugh's fidgeting and unexplained trips out of the house as signs of... disaster to come.  The sudden elation left him as his mind hit that stumbling block.  He'd been wrong, and he felt that distrust like a pit in his stomach, his heart sinking.

Lugh dropped the pair of ring boxes, putting his arms around David comfortingly.  "Shh, don't do that.  Come on," he said gently.  It was the same tone he used night after night when David woke in a cold sweat, unable to return to sleep.

Aedan reached out, gently touching David's arm.  He said nothing during those long, hard nights, but his actions always spoke louder.  And they did, now, too.  He loved them, through all their faults.

"Yes, to both of you," David wiped his face before he looked up, from Lugh to Aedan.

He leaned back into his lover - his fiance - a small smile tugging at the corners of his lips.  "Damn you for making us wait," he whispered, chuckling.
