the gang called dark path
-jessica nicholl
A strong clan they were
That huddled through the mall.
They stood outside in the hot or cold
Black clothing on them all.
Equipped with weapons of all sorts
Sometimes even kitchen knives
They sought to rule the world with angst
Darkness filled their lives
In the gang called Dark Path
It was predictable where they would reside
Pathetic was their reign
“Friday. Ruby Tuesday’s. Outside.”
Their leader named Shadow
A mystery was he
He’d accept any member
Only if they were under sixteen
“What’s your real name?”
“What’s your exact age?”
Questions like these,
Filled Shadow with rage
Numbers soon dwindled
For the gang called Dark Path
There was no doubt about it
That this wouldn’t last
Shadow was old
Older than his crew
So it would be likely
That trouble would brew
Since all his friends were young
Teenage girls he would date
Her parents found out
And called on it rape
“It was mutual!” she pleaded
Of course that would not consent
Soon after he was sent to jail
In order to repent
So Shadow’s story ends
For 20 years and a half
This would be the demise of
The gang called Dark Path
