Song Lyrics!

Okay, I'm trying to turn this journal into a fandom-only one, but I just have to answer today's writer's block...except I'm not doing it through writer's block. I've never done one of these before but it was called "Dynamite With A Laser Beam" and I couldn't resist. So. "What's your favorite line from a song, and why?"

I don't have one favorite line so I'm going to cheat and do lines from a bunch of songs.

Queen: Queen is my favorite band by virtue of me liking, while not every song, every album as a whole, and their discography is fairly immense. I really, really love a good number of songs and like most of the others. There are a few exceptions. Cool Cat, for example, will never be cool. Most of the lines I like best are ones that amuse me for one reason of another. There are some I like for other reasons though.

"I love you 'cause you're sweet / I love you 'cause you're naughty / I love you for your mind / Baby, give me your body" - Tear It Up
"Take your little brother swimming with a brick, that's alright" - Tie Your Mother Down
"To avoid complications, she never kept the same address" - Killer Queen
"You call me sweet like I'm some kind of cheese" - Sweet Lady
"If you dig the New York scene / We'll have a son of a bitch of a time" - Let Me Entertain You
"Funny how the pages turn and hold us in between / A misty castle waits for you and you shall be a queen" - Some Day One Day
"She boils and she bakes and she never dots her "I's"" - March of the Black Queen
"O rock of ages / Do not crumble / Love is breathing still" Brighton Rock
"My new purple shoes been amazing the people nextdoor" Tenement Funster
"For my life / Still ahead / Pity me" '39
"and time is but a paper moon" Teo Torriatte
"I am old but still a child" All Dead, All Dead
"Don't try suicide / You're just gonna hate it" Don't Try Suicide
"Your mind, honey, is a bleak place / Living in your mind's living in a blank space" Action This Day

Noe Venable: I have a ridiculous amount of love for Noe Venable. Unfortunately, I only have one album of hers so all of the favorite lines come from The World Is Bound By Secret Knots. Most of the lines I love for their imagery and poetic nature.
"Where I was standing / Now I am rocking to a fro / Will you still love me / After you see this tower come down" Tower
"I always thought you'd lift me up / And you never did / What the fuck" Black Madonna
"Watch the sun going down on the day / like a, a gentleman going down on a lady" Feral
"One day I'm going to bloom / Patient and proud with fish in my mouth / And eyes in my wings" Midsummer Night's Dream
"Mama, oh, Mama, I don't wanna come down / Not if it's all like it was on the ground / Hiding my face 'cause I'm too shy to dance / Hiding my face behind both of my hands" Juniper
"You're tuning out like a snowy television" Is The Spirit Here?
"And I remember when I was a kid / Feeling about unicorns the way I did / First I poked through to it like a stitch in time / Now I am reuniting horn and mind" In The Dark

Miscellaneous:
"We learned to dance / With broomstick partners" Wonder of Birds - The Innocence Mission
"Just wait 'til all the guys get a load of me" King for a Day - Green Day
"Little old lady got mutilated late last night / Werewolves of London again" Werewolves of London - Warren Zevon
"I put it down to the curse of love / I put it down to fate, hey" - Voodoo Paul Gross and David Keeley
"I hope you meet someone your height / So you can see eye to eye / With someone as small as you" Somebody More Like You - Nickel Creek

There are more but it's late and I'm getting lazy.
