I use the heck out of the Save For Web option on Photoshop, but awhile ago I messed with the settings and now all my images automatically save as the optimized image, which doesn't always work because it looks horrible. I tried resetting them but it still seems to be doing it. I know I must just be doing something wrong, so I wondering if you could help me out. Is there a way to use the Save For Web option and not save it optimized, or was I just lucking out when I used it before and saving images that just happened to look fine while optimized ...?
Open an image, and choose Save For The Web from the File Menu. When the Options Dialog box pops up, click on the right facing arrow to open the Optimize Menu. Click "Delete Settimgs", and see if that works for you. I hope it does!
I've also noticed that if you're trying to save it as a JPEG instead of a GIF, there's an option you can check to choose not to optimize it? Why isn't there one of those when saving it as a GIF? I personally like GIF better than JPEG.
Honestly, I've never heard of anything like this before. You might consider posting about this in the photoshoppe community, and if all else fails uninstall and reinstall Photoshop. Just make sure you save all of your brushes, actions, plugins, etc. first so you don't lose them.

I hope that wasn't too confusing. :\ Thanks.
