It's been a week since the Sophie-gate incident, and she's made no attempt to get in touch with me. I guess I can bring this chapter to a close. I still think about her rather more than I'd like, but with a kind of bitter melancholy. Strangely, I had a dream about her last night; all I remember was that I'd sneaked into her parents' house, and for some reason I really needed the toilet. So, I went to the en-suite bathroom in what turned out to be her parents' room, but while I was in there, she and her parents came back from wherever they were. Because I couldn't talk to her, I waited for a chance to dash out of the bathroom, and out of the bedroom without being seen. I think I managed it, too. Her father came outside shortly after me, and was involved in some kind of fight, in which he died! All that remained of him was a small plastic container, which I picked up and brought to Sophie. She seemed really angry at me. And then I woke up.
I'm doing pretty well financially lately; I'm putting £400 a month into savings, and still coming out about £300 after my rent goes out. Once I start the new job, I'll probably start saving £600+ monthly; in the meantime, though, I'm very tempted to buy an
Eee PC, or similar small laptop. Mostly I want it for portable music production, and I've seen proof of it running FL Studio and Ableton Live (Though it apparently doesn't handle synths so well). Being able to carry a stack of Indie games around with me would be pretty sweet, too. However, I'm not sure whether to go for a netbook of some description, or spend a little bit more money on a more powerful, but larger laptop, one capable of running my music software. It's the Eee's portability that's a big draw for me, though. Man, I don't know. Anyone know a lot about laptops?
