Random shit I realized in the past year (in no particular order)
- People don't all suck. In fact, people are cool. Some of them suck because they have not taken the time to think about their actions. Most of them SEEM to suck because they don't even know they SHOULD think about their actions. If you know them, give them a nudge and then give them time. After this, they should not suck. :)
- You have to know yourself before you attempt to understand other people.
In that same vein; you have to appreciate yourself and realize your own importance before you can appreciate other people in your life and realize their importance in it. - Try everything within reason.
- Have no fear; what's the worst that could happen? If the answer is not death, try it and if it turns out to be shit get up and fix it. Then try something else. This is related to the last point.
- Don't waste time; don't waste it on expectations(yours or those others put on you), don't waste it on false appearances, don't waste it mulling over past grievances, don't waste it doing something you don't like, don't waste it on fear, don't waste it on procrasination.
- Do shit. Remember it. Store it. Get over it. Move on. Do more shit.
- Don't waste momentum. It's all about action. Remember Physics children; Basic laws of motion apply to life.
- Don't waste time on someone who does not appreciate you or whom you don't appreciate. Time may or may not change them, but if it does, they will come back. If it doesn't... well... you'll probably find someone better. Aren't you glad you didn't waste your time on that BS?
- Don't lower your standards for anyone or anything.
- Don't try to change anyone. If they change, it will be of their own volition. It has to come from them. You could be the trigger (tipping point) or the catalyst. You will never be the sole reason and NEVER EVER be the process by which they change.
- Don't build apprearances/facades. BE the best you can be and it will all be (read; appear) effortless, natural and graceful. No matter what you do.
And the classic: DON'T WORRY; BE HAPPY! (only applies if you follow the above)
