My legs hurt somthing fierce...

So this weekend Robin and I stepped up our training regiment for our big walk. On sat morning we got up early and walked from our house in Dublin to downtown Pleasenton to have a little breakfast and then walked home. A little over 13.5 miles in total length. Was a good walk and getting up early really is the way to go. We were able to knock out most of the mileage before it got really warm, and we were home I think around noon or so. The rest of the day was spent just trying to recover enough energy to actually move about the house. Robin went out to a movie and drinks that evening with some friends, while i hung out with Toby and worked on some projects I had in mind for Oct. Crown.

Then on Sunday morning we got up early again and got ready to head out. We decided to take Toby with us as Sunday's walk was only 9 miles. We initially were a little concerned as he has seemed pretty pooped out when we have done 6 and 7 mile walks, but he has been cooped up so much lately that we were feeling pretty bad. We end up walking so far that neither of us has the energy to do a quick two or three mile walk with him afterwords. So we put his harness on, packed up our stuff and headed out. Boy was he a trooper. He walked the whole 9 miles with us and was just as upbeat as ever.

Now when we got home that was a totally different story. He was like a dead puppy the rest of the evening. It was too funny. Today he has recovered his energy and is back to normal. We refer to him as our little kangaroo at times because he bounces so much when he is moving about and today is no different. He keeps trying to get my attention as I think he wants to go to the dog park. There are a few dogs over there and he can see them when he stands on our bed and looks out the window.

Maybe at lunch I will run him over and let him burn off some energy, and maybe I can get some quiet time for the afternoon.
