Rufus Wainwright - adorable! A fantastic voice, tremendous, exuberant, original songs, such a sweet smile and that machine gun of a laugh! Every last little bit of him goes into singing these songs :)

Lovely as all that Rufus is, I saw one of the saddest things imaginable ealier this evening. I drove over to a local university to get some physio on my sore knee, and as I was approaching the gym I saw a pigeon standing on the ground on a small grassy hillock to my right, less than 12 feet away. It was bending over a second pigeon, and that one was dead. As I approached the first pigeon stood up--it seemed to have been resting its head against the dead bird--and began to stumble away, looking confused. I almost stood and cried right there. Sometimes there seems to be so much sadness in the world that I have to actively remind myself that there is good stuff going on.
Hence all the lovely Rufus :)
