I just finished an amazing night with Andre and Camille. The hard rain seemed to have woken me up. I feel awake now, not as in not tired, but as in seeing things in front of me, listening, tasting, etc.
A few days ago I visited an elderly man who was displacing his shop and tool collection to move into a retirement apartment. Because of my various networkings and connections, I was able to have first dibs outside of family dibs on tools. It wasn't just a free tool give-away, it was a window into the entire life of this person, and quite awe-inspiring. Each tool spoke of a period of his life, and I heard about all of them. He sent me away with a great many gadgets, noteably a clock he carved entirely out of wood, naturally fitting together with wood cogs and a few simple springs. It took him years to build and I wondered how he could give it up so freely, but I guess there comes a time to give things up.
