Okay. 3 things have happened since my last entry. They are... just kidding. There's been a bazillion things happening. Yet nothing I'm that excited to talk about. No that's not true...But I did just look at my last post in May and really liked it. I should stay up until 3am more often.
This last summer was very hard, but I will be a stronger person because of it. Each day that passes brings unavoidable clarity: I need to find what I want to do with myself, and do that, no matter what the obstacles are. So what DID happen this summer? I painted houses, insulated houses, landscaped, delivered house appliances, and orchestrated the photography at two weddings. And it wasn't that bad. In fact, it was better than any office job I could have had. Have. Right now. Yes, I have an office job right now. But I don't want to talk about that.
Towards the end of the summer, I attended the 2005 annual Treehouse Workshop workshop (TreehouseWorkshop.com) in Fall City, WA. CARPENTRY PEOPLE. It's a necessary skill in the skilled-world of Sophia. I spent one week building a very elaborate bathouse/treehouse to accomodate a claw foot tub, a standup shower, a toilet, sink, and a sofa. Complete with plumbing and electricity. And it was amazing...the carpentry as well as the treehouse aspect. And the people, Lord the people, some of the best people I've met to date.
Going through a carpentry program could be very challening, in a way that I'd never imagine (In the way you never imagine about options you don't consider). First and foremost, there are bascially no women in that area, and the ones that are there get the shit harassed out of them, or so I've heard from contractors so far. Second, it is a math based art. Sure, it's not that much more complicated than high school trig or geometry, but that's something I'd have seen myself implimenting in later life. Clarification: I am still applying to graduate school, now in fact, but carpentry will happen too.

The other bazillion events will have to wait. Until then I'll end with: This last weekend was great, solely because I spent it at Ross's house with Andre, Camille, and Jason. Thanks guys--andre and jason. Please, lets go again soon. That was just the beginning. Something good is going to come out of this. JH, what is your #?? I just read your journal and you live about 1 block from my work foo.
