I'm doing the poisoning. It was, I think, pre Jack/Helen/Richard, when she was about fourteen?

Peter's reaction to that must have been spectacular.

It's from Helen's point of view, and she's pretty much out of it, but, yeah. I think everyone is avoiding telling her precisely what he's doing, but when he's there as she wakes up, he's obviously freshly washed.

His reaction to the stillbirth was to call Lucy and her cordial in, and when that didn't work, to throw the celebratory bottle of alcohol at the wall, break his knuckles on the wall, and storm out.

You know, there are happy things that happen in this 'verse, I'm certain of it.

Also appearing: Susan, Edmund, Lucy (how does the cordial work on poisonings?), Fiorenza, and possibly Osumare Seaworth. And Richard. But not Jack.

Yes! Happy things! Um, when Helen was born?

I would think the cordial works pretty well, but takes longer than it does for a wound, since it probably has to first flush out the poison from the body, then mend the damage.

Okay, that would work. I need her to be dropping in and out of conciousness for a bit.

Meanwhile: Susan is insensible with tears, and Helen has no idea what's going on.

And she is sure that she doesn't usually wake up to find Osumare Seaworth or Fiorenza Paolucci sitting by her bed with swords...

They sneaked something into the decotion she was taking for period pains. No one is taking any chances. What do Fiorenza and Osumare look like?
