I've found something out in the past week. Whoo, am I going to embarrass myself with this post, and these pictures.
First attempt. Not bad--top lip way too thin, missed a tiny bit on the right side of bottom lip. So, I tried to fix it...
The best lips I've done, to date. Notice how the right side of top lip is just a tad thicker than left side; so I decide to fix it.
OK, and it's still uneven, and now I have the problem of bubbles dried into the lips. (Can't see that well in this picture.) STILL uneven on top lip, so hey, I'm going to peel it all off. Right?
Oops! I messed up the stock lips. It's all or nothing, now. For a long while, I thought it was going to be "nothing". ^_^;
AUGH! Poor Drue!
*Hides* OMG. Yeah, I know. My kid has too many Bratz dolls. I think it rubbed off. *Gags* This was when I was ready to cry.
Um. *cough* Yeah. W.T.F. Clown lips, and what looks to be either chocolate, or something unmentionable on her eyes. A real WTFno moment.
So where does that leave me tonight? Well, I found the joys of chalk pastels and watercolor pencils. You can have my acrylic paints; I shan't be using them again.
Personally? I love it. Pink with purple highlights works so much better, in my eye, since it breaks up all the purple a little; there's no purple overload. The eye makeup is perhaps a little messier than I'd like, but I now know what to do, and what not to do (such as OMGS DEW TEH EYEBROWS FIRST! Then seal those bad boys...) I was a bit surprised at how difficult it was to correct mistakes with the pastels; perhaps that was just because I used the black? Are the lighter colors easier to work with?) Still not completely happy with the lip shape, but I know when to quit. Now, anyway. *laughs*
Tomorrow, the real test--REAL SUNLIGHT *DIE*
