And so, young Teodoro Chambers had had his mother seen to by the Deck's hospital, freeing him of the heavy duty of being sole caretaker. Perhaps a few members of the hospital staff had given him knowing gazes, having heard his show, but no one directly confronted him with their suspicions.
Teddy moved into the Heart Castle, taking up the duties of personal assistant to the Ace of Hearts, as well as throwing himself with vigor into his schoolwork, with written apologies for his apparent apathy to teachers whose classes he was in danger of failing. The school's principal was told of his situation, and passed along word that he was to be given time to set his grades aright.
Which meant, on this chilly Saturday morning, that Teddy was tucked in a nook in Heart Castle with his books and make-up work. While the Castle didn't yet feel like home, the bustle of people moving past him was oddly reassuring, and it gave him a chance to surreptitiously study those who passed through these halls on a regular basis: Ambassadors, royalty, servants, cooks...people he had never thought he'd have reason to get to know. After all, he was, had been, only an Outsider Townie Two of no particular name.
And now he's staring again, as someone interesting crosses his line of sight. They're probably more worthy of attention than this biology problem, right?
