But regardless, there were a few who made it to support Isadore in her challenge. Ethan had brought the tests he'd written to Karin to administer, and after two hours it was the Seven of Clubs who graded them in a green pen. The winner, by twenty percent? Isadore.
Which led to Max counter-challenging immediately in swords for two days later--the 28th of December. Isadore cobbled together a thready smile, but her heart sank. This was going to be an embarrassing mismatch of talents.
Still, come the end of the day, Isadore was at the Four Suits as a Four again, for the second time. The challenge wasn't the only thing weighing on her mind, but she made a show of joviality. It wouldn't do to seem unhappy with her new rank.
