She finally went to the outposts to see a Ten of Clubs and have quiet words with him. Words that left her in a boiling red rage, and forced her to clench her fists to keep from slapping him.
And then she returned to the castle, because she couldn't run away with the Deck magic malfunctioning as it was. She returned to the castle and undertook a top-to-bottom cleaning of the Club armory, exiling Max from the chambers as she worked. Polishing, sweeping, organizing, all of it better than actually acknowledging her feelings.
And now there's nothing left to do, and it's almost her birthday, and she's hurting and frustrated and lonely in ways she doesn't want to acknowledge. So Isadore's out in Town, bundled up and trying to keep herself occupied. Stopping means thinking, and that hurts.
