But there was little she could do about it except be her usual watchful self.
She saw Clive as soon as he stepped into the bar, and raised her wineglass in salute. There was a man with things on his mind, she thought. But then, that made perfect sense.
"Milord Jack," she said. "Come to check out the alcohol inventory?"

As for his brother, he laughed at Briony's comment and shook his head. "Jeremy's problem is that he thinks Math is sexy, and that women love Star Wars."
