Twenty-six wasn't exactly a landmark birthday. Jordan had celebrated his twenty-fifth - and the release of his trust fund - last year with a wild party at the Four Suits, which was neutral ground between his remaining Spade friends (most of whom had faded back in the last year or just left the Deck altogether)and the Hearts and Clubs he got along with.
If things hadn't been going quite as...badly, lately, Jordan thought, he probably could have gotten away with not doing anything. But there'd been Concerned visits from more than one person, and skipping out on the birthday would just get more. So here they were.
The Three Cups, in the center of the Heart District, and Jordan had his best amused look on as he leaned on his billiards cue and watched the - smaller than last year, admittedly - crowd.
