[ota] He's Got Moves Like Jagger

Sep 18, 2012 21:45

Victor had moved the thing he needed most often to Club Castle, which had been a strange thing to request Pasha to do. Then again, Pasha had given him a quietly amused look when he'd told the man he was moving most of his office as well to Club Castle. The Two probably thought of it as a game more than anything ( Read more... )

Zoe saw him passing as she stepped out of one of the antique stores not far from the small church, and she blinked at the direction he was heading in. But the church wasn't the only thing in that direction, and her shoulders lifted in a shrug. At least, she thought, she had good news.

It'd been surprisingly hard to find a record player on the Deck, honestly.

So she waited until he went past, and then tapped a finger against his shoulder with an impish smile. "Does ambassadorship require fortification?"

"Whenever one must deal with the King, it does." Victor said as he looked back over his shoulder at Zoe. "How has your shopping gone?" He asked, tilting his head a little as he made room for her to walk beside him.

It was enough to make her wonder if she was going to have to stock up on something to deal with the Diamonds, but at the moment there was really mostly only Säde to deal with.

"It went well," she said, though, as she fell into step with him. "I found a record player."

"Ah, well...That is a step in the right direction." Though he had been fairly non-committal about most of the shopping to replace the broken items from his rooms. There were, in his mind, some things you didn't argue with women about.

And there was the fact that Victor was not a fan of spending for himself. Zoe might well be using his money, but at least he could pretend she was shopping for herself if he kept his opinions to himself.

"H'llo Victor," Aoife said, exiting the church. Victor, she and her aunt made up a good portion of the congregation but they did not often bump into one another. One could imagine who offered to do the majority of the flower arrangements on a Sunday. That is why Aoife sometimes stopped by during the week, to ask the clergyman for suggestions on Orla's behalf.

Her eyes inadvertently dropped to the the bottle in Victor's hand, she looked slightly amused. Whiskey seemed an odd thing to take into a chapel but she was not going to say anything. It was none of her business.

The whiskey wasn't for the Priest, to say the least. Though he might well want it after Victor has said his piece in confessional. It has been a long time since he'd made confession, after all. One thing lead to another, and after a while it was too long of a list to really want to tell.

But then things changed, and certain ideas mean going to the Priest finally. Penance was going to be difficult, he imagined, given what he was about to share.

"Evening," he said to Aoife, regarding her curiously for a moment before looking back at the doors to the church. "You are a bit early for Mass."

If Aoife were to consider all the minor offenses she had committed, and all the good things she had neglected to, she would be paying a visit to confessions every other day. A sin was a sin, no matter how severe.

"So are you," she replied with a smile. "I was consultin' the Priest about next week's flowers. I'd usually just phone but, since I won't be making it to Mass, I thought I'd let him know in person." She was not as good a Catholic as she ought to be. When balancing her studies and work became too tiresome, her spiritual life usually slipped. She was actually overdue for a confession.

"Ah." He wasn't one with many words, to tell the truth. But he preferred it that way, truthfully.

"I am sure he was devastated that you'll miss mass." He said with a vague smirk. "But he is likely to survive."
