Wednesday afternoon, and the sun is turning the Club courtyard into a sauna. It's actually great weather for hanging laundry outside and letting the blistering rays suck every bit of moisture off socks and blouses alike.
Karin's singing as she works, not caring who hears her crooning. She isn't trying out for a talent show, and she's not being recorded. It's a release, after Tea with Chives in the Spade kitchen. It's an escape from the stone walls of the castle. It's cathartic, singing everything from lighthearted pop music to ballads popular out in Town.
And it's loud enough to be heard from clear on the other side of the Castle, when she stops paying attention to herself.
