Indeed? [Please, do go on. He is extremely interested in what you're saying despite the speed at which his hands continue to prepare today's lunch spread.]

It just... It makes no sense! [ And her voice had gotten a bit louder at that, causing her to wince. She'd overdone it last night. So, so much. But hey, who wouldn't. After all, her husband had acted in the most confusing way possible and that totally wasn't her fault in any way ever.

Really.

And why couldn't she stay properly mad at him, anyway. ]

[Proper hangover remedies take time, but Itchy had taught him the best, and Athena would be glad for the time it took when he finally gave it to her.]

He was upset, Miss Athena.

[They had been too long for it to be Miss Jack between them. The cup of hangover cure is set down in front of her without so much as a click.]

Rightfully so. I very much expected him to be, since in all honesty, both my past and current actions didn't exactly speak well for me.

[ She inspects the cup with some distaste, but ends up taking a sip, anyway. Anything to make that pain go away. ]

That might have been the reason why I hadn't expect anything but an argument.

What did you get from it?

[Because she obviously wanted to talk, and that made it sound like there was more than words in the pair's conversation.]

A kiss.

Oh, and a whole lot of confusion.

[A kiss? That's a surprise.]

Indeed? [Have some chocolate. He is extremely sympathetic, because that doesn't seem to make any sense.]

[She agrees to that.

Also, behold it world, she actually eats chocolate without considering the fact that it might end up on her hips.]

Angrily. He... claimed it was a mistake.

And you believe? [Because she was distressed - confused - but not truly upset about the kiss. She seemed more upset that David had claimed it a mistake, really.

His head bends nods in her direction, tilting slightly to the side - though nothing compared to Chives' gravity defying movement.]

Absolutely not. He never does anything he doesn't want to do.

[She leans back and takes a sharp breath when her headache acts up again.]

[Pills are set on the table, to go with that hangover cure, as it seemed to have set off a different kind of headache.]

Then what do you plan to do?

[Sean had learned over the years that people didn't come to him for advice. They came to him to talk about their troubles with someone sympathetic, to have a sounding board they could use to come to their own conclusions.

He loved that. loved being able to help.]

[The headache most likely came from the lack of sleep, which... doesn't help things at all.

But, in all honesty, she adores you right now, Sean.]

On the long run? I will fix this.

But right now?

Nothing. Giving him time, I suppose?
I mean, I broke into his private rooms and more or less forced this talk upon him, and hell, I assumed he'd call the guards on me instead of anything happening, so... there was more 'progress' made than I would have expected, even though virtually nothing actually changed.

The most important thing that came of it is the fact that we both have some sort of basic idea where the other one is standing right now.

[She finishes off the hangover cure (and the pills, for that matter).] It's all one huge mess.

[A pause. She had broken into his private rooms? What for?

No reason to ask that now, however. Not with it already said and done.]

Nothing is unfixable. [he assures her gently, pouring her a cup for something warm and tasty to help take care of the hangover-cure taste.]
