The day itself is bright and warm, though perhaps it seems to the mourners as if a cloud hangs around their little end of the Heart cemetery. For here is the casket that holds Itchy's body, cleansed and prepared in keeping with his beliefs by other Jewish members of the Deck. There is no long service or visitation, no flowers to be seen, but before the casket is lowered into the grave, those whose lives were touched by the late Jack of Hearts and doctor are welcome to speak a few words.
