[OTA] Girl and a Guitar

Apr 28, 2012 13:37

Avery and her guitar used to be a well-known sight on the Deck, with her wandering here and there and occasionally eking out information for Cadogan and Säde and plunking down somewhere to play a song or two. It was a little harder these days, with so much going on and so much to do, but there was one more person at the helm now ( Read more... )

This is perfect.

Almost perfect. Because she's probably going to ask stranger questions that you should not ask strangers. But all in all, it's for the greater good. Maybe.

So have a petite brunette wander over, knowing some of the songs. Her Dad's not quite a hippie anymore, but she's heard Joni Mitchell, Jefferson Airplane, Bob Dylan.

She'll just wait a few moments until breaks between songs, yes? And say hello.

Avery had started humming - just humming, because "A Case of You" is kind of a bitch to sing - when Sandy wanders up, and she looks up with a warm grin. She knows of Sandy, of course. She's too close of friends with Wren and Ceiro not to know of their court artist. But they've never met.

Somehow.

"Hello," she says, stilling her fingers on the guitar strings and tipping her head up at the smaller brunette. Avery herself has been blessed with five feet and seven inches, but she's curled up at the base of an old tree. "Are you looking for me in my official capacity?" Ideally, it's not obvious that she's hoping not.

And the brunette looks slightly nervous. The grandiosity from a few days ago is starting to wear off. Soon she'll be running on adrenalin and the fact she has to go through with this plan now. Too many people are in it. It's too grand.

Oh, she wants to scamper. But she won't.

"Uhm. Hi. Sandy." She offers her hand. She might know of her, but Lasandra likes to do the proper introduction to make sure people aren't calling her something like 'Saundra' or 'Sandra Dee'. "Not... quite. I heard from little birdies about you being someone I could... talk to about ... things."

"Hi, Sandy," Avery says, and her brows raise up over sparkling blue eyes before she sets her guitar down and waves Sandy to share the grass. Birdies and things, hmm? "What's up?" she asks, leaning back on her palms and looking over at the Heart.

Man, there was a time when she didn't make anyone nervous at all. Maybe she needs to go back to cartwheeling down the halls like she did when she was seventeen.

Spmetimes Hadyn thought he was born with the wrong gender for a sibling. Nothing was particular wrong with Jordan... But, he wasn't female. And in not being female- Jordan was useless when all you wanted was to sit and lean on a person.

As it was now... Hadyn just sat next to Avery and frowned as he listened to her. The Diamonds made a hippie their Jack- what were theythinkimg?

"Casual sex is... Just casual, right?" Hesaid after a moment. "You don't date people you sleep with and all- right?" He just needed someone to repeat that a hundred times to him was all.

There was just nothing about Jordan Novak that said caring confidante. Avery was closer to his age - although older - and thus had experienced Jordan's brand of sympathy more than once. It usually involved offered knives for throwing, and that just wasn't always what a girl needed.

Also, they were thinking that the hippie that transferred from the Hearts was highly organized and diplomatic. At least that's the explanation she'd gotten from Rachel, and since the Suit hadn't fallen down when it was just Säde and her, she was guessing there was something to it.

"It's supposed to be," she replied, looking over at him. "Although sometimes I bend the rules and let them take me out to dinner." A girl had to eat, after all.

"What do you do when it stops being...Casual?" He said, nibbling at his lip. It was silly. But Elisha hadn't said anything about the randomly blurted confession- which was even more worrisome than anything else. Did that mean Elisha felt the same way? Did it mean...he thought it was funny? Did...what did it mean?

And why was he so bothered by it?

"Have you ever told one of them you loved them?"

Well, she hasn't allowed anything to be more than casual since she was younger than Hadyn. Cristian was a full decade ago now - and no, she's never denied that she might possibly have some issues.

She's sighs quietly and sets the guitar aside. No, not that since Cristian, either. Though she'd almost done it with Lucas. "No," she says as she wraps an arm around Hadyn's shoulders. "What did he say?"
