It's occurred to Simon, of late, that it might be nice to have some extra cash to toss around.
It's not that he's really hurting for it, or anything, but who wouldn't want a bit of additional income if the opportunity presented itself? And there had been an ad in the paper, as he'd been idly scanning it on a Sunday morning, and he hadn't been able to help thinking it would feel nice to make himself a bit more useful. It's something to do, and it's not like he doesn't spend enough time down at the pub as it is. He thinks it's a win-win.
Folding up the ad, he heads on down to the bar to ask about the position.
