Sean is silent as a whisper, it's one of the many talents learned in Butler School. He leaves her a bottle of juice and a snack, only letting himself watch for the shortest moment.
She didn't like when people saw, so he was very good at pretending he was blind.
It took a few moments, just a few until she noticed him. She came to a stop, her breathing a touch erratic but she turned a little bit and smiled, her eyes glowing from the recent exertion.
She didn't like when people saw because her dancing opened her up so much, made her so much more aware and so much more open about who she really was. She could dance the pain away and she had, so many times. But while it gave her bittersweet memories, it was the one thing that made her feel free. Despite being in the Deck and in particular, the Hearts, she felt freer her than she ever had anywhere else.
Sean didn't smile - it wasn't really part of his repertoire. But as he stood there in his line-faced glory a warm kind of approval seemed to emanate from him.
She was a lovely dancer, and a sweet girl. There was no reason for her to feel subconscious about it.
"No trouble, Miss." Just let him place a water bottle and a snack here for her.
She noticed that, her eyes moving from the water bottle to the snack as she kept her distance. Physically, at least. Her smile was as bright as the sun, her green eyes lit up with pure joy on the subject.
"No need to go formal on me. It's just Cayden. Or Cay." She said, her hands clasping behind her.
Do you want me to double tag David in tooooooo?kindlybutleApril 11 2012, 20:00:03 UTC
"Of course, Miss Cayden." He manages to set things up with a plate, utensils, and napkin without making the effort look completely ridiculous resting on the bench. "DO please not forget to stop by the kitchens for lunch."
This was, after all, not even approaching the proper standards for a meal, as far as he was concerned.
Yes yes! As I said in AIM. <3dancerofheartsApril 11 2012, 21:01:52 UTC
This was utterly ridiculous; she wasn't a 'Miss' anything. A faint smile crossed her lips as he told her not to forget to stop by the kitchens for lunch, her eyes sparkling. "Thank you, Sean. I promise that I won't forget. After all, it isn't good to worry you."
No, it was not good to worry or concern the Heart's Butler. He was a good, kind person like many of them but..worries still drug a person down in some ways. She sat down and looked up at him, her eyes sparkling. Rather, she didn't sit so much as she let herself slide down to the floor gracefully.
No, he didn't particularly want to, the ground was extremely dirty and he still had work to return to. It wouldn't do to say that, however, and me manages to keep any distaste with the idea completely out of his bearing - though there was a slight tint to his behavior that said he'd much prefer her to sit on the bench.
"Not just now, Miss Cayden. At a later date." He would not love to, but he would make an effort to try, because she was a very sweet girl.
A faint smile touched her lips at that, the reactions to her sitting on the floor amusing her. It didn't bother her; it truly didn't. Her gaze flicked over his face again and she stood up, moving to sit down on the bench and crossed her legs to sit Indian style.
"Of course, Mister Sean." And why yes, if he persisted in calling her 'Miss', she'd persist in calling him 'Mister'. Which was now something that she had decided.
Mister Sean. It was so amusing when they tried to use his manners against him. There was just a warm kind of pleasure and love draped around him as he gave a tiny bow to the Three.
"Thank you, Miss Cayden. Do stop by if there's anything you need." And he means it. Absolutely anything. He cared for the Hearts as best he possibly could.
Her smile brightened considerably as she bounced up, her arms going about Sean in an instant hug. The Hearts were definitely the best, and their Butler? The best of the best of the bestest. And why yes, that was a lot of bests. But Cayden couldn't help but think it. So she was eighteen and sometimes she was a little silly, but she needed that and with the secrets she hid of her life from before, the love the Hearts gave so easily relaxed her. She had wanted a place where she could be loved --- and accepted --- for who she was. A place that love was easily given but not so easily taken away. She'd definitely found it.
"Thank you, Sean. For more than you will ever know."
Sean was not perfect at hugs - physical contact was not part of the butler training curriculum - but having worked for the Hearts his entire life meant he learned to handle it significantly better than either of his counterparts had. So when she hugged him, he hugged her back as was appropriate. That was simply polite. It was not a perfect hug, but it was serviceable.
She smiled a little more before stepping back out of the hug. She loved her Suit, and the people in it. They definitely were the best fit for her despite all else. She sat down on the bench again, tucking her legs underneath her once more.
Those eyes sparkled with joy, something that rarely was seen except when she was near the people she cared for. And Sean? Definitely someone she cared for. "What're your plans for the day? I can help if you like?"
She didn't have to do that, but Sean wouldn't crush anyone's feelings by doing something as awful as telling them no. "The usual, Miss Cayden. You may assist, if you have the time."
it was unlikely she didn't... she was a Three, after all. They tended to be rather care-free.
She grinned and took the juice as well as the snack, nodding.
"Well, let's go. I'll be more than happy to help you with everything, Sean." He was so good to all of them, it was the least that she could do. She loved her Suit, loved the people in it. But there were so many secrets she needed to keep, so many things that she couldn't tell anyone. It truly made her wonder if they knew, if they'd turn away from her. If they could see the scars, the pain, all of it, would they walk away? She was who she presented as well as the girl who had emotional scars that sometimes still bled. She was all of it, but first and foremost? She was a Heart. She loved her friends, the people she considered family here, and the rest? The rest would fall into place as it would.
"Indeed, Miss Cayden." Now eat your snack, his posture seemed to say. Leaning forward slightly, his gaze was warm but intent. He worried when you did eat, doesn't she know? He worried for her in general. No one could dance like that without a reason.
That worry didn't float into his bearing, of course - worry could make people uncomfortable. Instead he managed to carry and air of love and caring. A welcoming kind of feel. This was home, he tried to say to everyone, and you are always welcome at home.
She smiled a little bit, cheerfully eating her snack while sipping on her juice. She'd carry it around with her, the juice, that is. Her eyes sparkled in amusement, knowing that he was as he always was. Sean was the one solid person she knew of: she could count on him for...well, anything. He was solid, he was sure, and he took care of his own. The Suit, all of them even those who didn't want to be taken care of.
Cayden shook her head a little bit as she finished the snack off. "All done!" A bright smile flashing over her lips.
