Catch 'em all! ... or at least one. Clue, that is.

The walk back to Worth's seemed both shorter and longer than it had when we'd chased after Conrad. We weren't as worried this time, but there was a time limit that hadn't been there before. Would Lamont still be at Worth's when we arrived? He may have been tending to the doctor, but he did have a job to do. It might have taken him away from ---

"You've had yer laugh, an' ya got yer cash. Get out, I got work."

We slowed as we approached, and I was glad to see that the delivery man was still there. Judging from the conversation, Lamont's visit was about to end. It looked as though we'd arrived just in time.

"Nice to see you, too, ol' buddy," Lamont answered sweetly. He stood in the doorway, or rather, just outside of it, framed by the dim light coming from inside. It was clear he was amused.

Worth, however, was not. "Like I said, f#ck your mother," he snapped, and slammed the door shut. In an instant the click of the bolt being thrown was heard, and then the lights went out. For all intents and purposes, the place was closed.
