Let's talk about House, some more.

Let's talk about House, some more.  Season 4 brought many changes, some as obvious as major cast changes and others less noticeable to the casual or even average viewer.  None of us around here would be considered 'casual' or 'average' when it comes to our viewing of House, so let's have at it!

Ch-ch-ch-changes

House has a new team, Cameron's blond, and apparently Chase has some mad surgical and hypnosis skills.  Who knew?  Out of all the Season 4 changes, what do you think had the most positive impact on the quality of the show?

The season opener that left House "Alone" could've been a diving board into so many other great, character developing plots.  By character developing, I refer to the 3 characters we've attached ourselves to over the past 3 seasons, not these newbies with storylines that are supposed to make us go 'hmmn...'  Adored that Wilson finally got a make-out scene!  That was hot.  Also, a real love interest beyond a poke at an ex-wife or nurse.  My favorite change is Chase's character... he's a big boy now.  Not afraid to stand up to House, say his point, walk away.  For the few episodes we saw him, at least.

Where there's light, darkness isn't far behind.  Tell us the change heard 'round the fandom that would've been better crumpled in the writer's trash cans.

Of course I am saddened by the lack of Cameron, and the lack of Chase.  Had to say that first.  But a close second is the sudden absence of pain House seems to be experiencing.  Hopping up a lane with a bowling ball?  Doing a victory dance in a patient's room?  Walking, running, being vivacious without the aide of a cane?  Right.

Put on the Executive Producer hat for a moment.  What changes would you have made for Season 4?

Instead of bringing in a lecture hall full of new characters, I would've fleshed out some storylines for the great supporting actors we already had for House.  You don't have to bring in a whole new cast to create some excitement around your protagonist, just weave in some depth and layers to the crew you already have that has demonstrated exceptional chemistry with House!
