Welcome
This is a place within the House, M.D. fandom to showcase fic and authors in the "What-If" genre. Stories range from wildly fantastical to essentially realistic, but all depart significantly from canon reality.
We have defined 20 categories into which stories may fall. These include After Death/Afterlife, Allegory, Alternate Governance, Alternate Personal History, Alternate Time Period, Alternate World History, Amnesiac Odyssey, Creatures/Mythical Beings, Crossover Elements, Deity Chat, Human Variation, Life-Altering Events, Magical Realism, Parallel Universe, Powers, Recovery Fic, Science Fiction, Transmogrification, and Wishful Thinking.
This comm grew out of the House "What-If" Rec List, which highlights over 100 works by more than 80 authors and artists.
How to Participate
First of all, even if you haven't joined the comm, we invite you to post comments to the entries. Join the discussion!
How to post content to the House, MD "What-If" Comm:
- Join the comm. Click on the 'join' icon, or the word JOIN, in the top left of the screen.
- Create a what-iffy thing. We welcome fic of any length, fanart, icons, and vids. All pairings are welcome.
- Post your work to the comm. Be sure to read the what-iffy category definitions and tag your post accordingly.
- Interact with readers in the comments section.
