Turning your favorite fanatic obsessions into movies has been a topic of conversation for as long as anyone can remember. You know you've all done it. Your favorite book, comic, game, whatever. You jokingly talk about how cool it would be for so and so to be the lead actor, and what's her face to be his main squeeze. However, in reality, this rarely is a very good idea. And at the forefront of proving this, is Uwe Boll.
This guy has more game liscenses under his belt then most publishers. But what has he done to deserve them?
Not much. But he's the only one who wants to do these game to movies, so he gets 'em. Up to this point, I really have just ignored his existance and the movies that spawn from him. But now he's doing casting for his next project... Dungeon Siege. This makes me sad. This game has a special little place in my heart, as hours upon hours were wasted LANing at a friend's house fighting through this game. I'm now fearful of this Uwe Boll. Fearful of what he could do to a franchise I actually give a shit about.
Of course, I could be the optomist and assume that he will suddenly learn how to direct, and actually pick a script that's worth something... But I'm not holding my breath.
