This gets my highest recommendation - one of the finest fanfics I've read in any fandom. Period. I know it's difficult to trust the opinions of someone who lacks a House avatar ;) but definitely give this fic a read. Fourteencandles has taken the fanfic 100 table and completed a long, 5 part story that deals with another take on the (now) AU version of the 'House goes to rehab' angle. The writing is exquisite and fourteencandles manages to capture the voices of all the major characters as s/he switches viewpoints between sections. Although the main focus of the fic is the House/Wilson dynamic, each character gets their chance to shine. One thing that works particularly well here is how the author has placed Foreman in the role of a passive observer, watching as his coworkers and friends are drawn into the maelstrom with House at the center. The ending may seem abrupt (and as with any great fic, I was left wanting more), but I think the readers must be left to make up their own minds about the titular ending.
edit the second: I take all that back. Except you should still read "A Smaller World", because it's good. It's just not a sequel.
