Roses [log with notparadigm]

Not to be a prude, but House got a case of ennui with his children all cooped in Jane's villa every night. He was an active vampire, partaking in the arts and the science developing all around him. Patrick was probably somewhere marvelous, like an upscale event; conning a few unlucky patrons of their money and, in some ladies, their life. Well, time to get some city air, House remarked as he closed his sketchbook mid-drawing a statue standing in front of Town Square.

Even Jimmy was showing signs of boredom, exploring the rose garden in which Patrick's family had been buried, along with a countless number of dead servants. These blooms were exquisite and could've won praise if seen properly, feeding off the rotting remains and the nutrients they gave back to the Earth. Only in Rome had he seen such vivid specimens, growing besides the seminary's walls and creeping up the cracks.

"I take it you like them, the roses I mean," a voice remarked from behind just as the sky turned dark and safe.
