Elliot is pacing the ground outside his Aunt's house in Dublin. He knows she's home, he saw her go in three hours earlier. He just hasn't plucked up the courage to go in yet.
But for a change, Elliot hadn't done anything wrong. Not that Aunt Brigid needed to know anyway. No, he was here for an entirely innocent reason.
He needed advice.

Stand there long enough, Elliot dear, and you'll be taken away by the Guardí.

Can I come in?

Aye, 'course you can. The only family I'd turn away is Arthur, after all.

Aah, 'course. If Douglas knows something, 'tis only a matter of time before Francis does. [And if she pulls one of her stings just a little too sharply, well, that can be understood.] Well, I promise that anything said here will be stayin' here.

So...how do I tell her?

Depends on the lass, I should think. Why do you like her? What would she like to be hearing?

She's beautiful and funny and she makes me act different...
[As to what she would like hearing, he hadn't a clue. Wasn't that why he was here in the first place?]
