He'll have to talk with the ones who brought him here in earnest later, but for now, there's going to be a familiar booted tread coming into the room.

Zuko is bored.

But Li is smiling. On the couch, peering up toward the skylight and the clouds passing overhead. Why not? They're pretty. He can see shapes in them.

Also, his back is killing him, so he doesn't feel like moving much.

That happens sometimes. Still-

"Oi, you," says Wells. It's not nice to sneak up on people.

"Hey," he replies. "Take a seat, if you like." He doesn't look over that the others when they leave, he just -- lays there. And stares upward.

Skylight.

Sky.

Freedom.

"Didn't expect to see you here."

Steph has a bundle of clothing and various odds and ends, gathered hastily from Zuko's room.

She's quiet until the others have left.

"...hi."

Zuko sits up on the couch now, and says, only, "...hi," back.

He's got his head bowed. This is especially humiliating, with her here.

"Brought you stuff," Steph offers, dumping her bundle on the nearest table so she can scrub a hand through her hair.

Yeeeeah, awkward.

"So ... Lan said someone did stuff to you."

Constant pain were the words he used. That someone is on Steph's kill list, or at least her maim list. If she can figure out who.

"I don't want to talk about it," he says quietly.

Because, he knows that. He knows what she'll want to do.

And she'll want to club him when he has to say why it was done.
