The House of Arch Academy is ready to go! There are many, many teachers and nannies... there might be a few more students added as we go to help this. ;)
So here is what I ask of you guys - IC, we handwave a lot of stuff, but I'll try and have threads when I can showing Ingress's established relationship with her teachers. You can god her school/everyday behavior as you need to, following the guidelines of her personality. She is bright and curious, but not so good with math. She has her high energy days when she'd rather be outside swordfighting, and she might be poinging about the classroom, not easily focused. She'll love her teachers, but if she really doesn't want to work, she might sneak away and hide in a room they can't access! (This will be a very rare thing). On the whole though, as long as she's actively learning and having fun, she'll be a very good student. You can mention her classroom antics in other threads - this will amuse me and make me giggle. :)
I'll let Kate speak to Gavroche's school habits and personality, but I imagine she won't mind slight godding of "how he's doing in school". (Kate, want to comment?)
This is a schedule of sorts - again, I ask that you keep it mind IC. If you have a character in the bar at a time when he/she should be in the HoA, just say someone is covering for him/her. No big.
6:30 - 10:30 Martha is there when the kiddos wake up. She fixes breakfast and keeps them company before school. She'll help as needed in school, too, or she can take some time to learn herself.
8:00-12:00 School! Doyle will oversee the staff - Lucy teaches creative writing (and, along with Alex, started this before Mary Poppins gave notice), Alex has been tutoring maths, Mace Windu will teach science, and Doyle will handle the other subjects. You guys can split it up a la science M,W,F, hour long English and writing lessons on T-Th, everyone teaching their subject every day for a certain amount of time, whatever.
12:00-1:00 Tom and Door spend lunch with the kids
1:00 - 4:00 Amy supervises kiddos as they take hour long lessons with Meg for ballet and French, Merriman for Latin and Greek, Mrs. Reynolds for piano. Every week Ace will take the kids on a field trip - Doyle will accompany them, if he can. Or is he too Bound for that? That could be fun to rp once or twice, eh? Plus, Ingress has her semi-regular sword fighting and archery lessons, and all (including Amy's princess lessons, which I hope will also include glitter) in the afternoon.
Then there is family time for dinner and then bedtime. Gavroche's bedtime is 10:00ish (I hope - he might be sneaky and stay up later), but Nita will be in the House from around 9:00 till Martha takes over in the morning. Adiva, if she needs to be out and about in the bar, either use Millitime, or handwave someone covering for her. 'Tis no big. Tom and Door work most every late evening/early morning, but if I'm not around, you can always say they are home for the night.
This is from Monday through Friday, btw. If I hear from Jane Eyre-mun, I'll schedule her for the weekend night shift as needed.
All staff will be keyed to the Milliways painting, the school room (which will have an outside area for Megwyn and playing, as well as an attached bathroom, just so we can be realistic), and the House of Arch library. Nita will have her own bedroom, and Amy and Martha will have a guest room to keep their things in - they will all also be keyed to the playroom, kitchen, and both kids' rooms, as well as school room and library.
For those of you not familiar with the exact workings of the House, please read
this post - it will give you a better idea of how things work.
You guys are welcome to join the HoA comm - you can have staff meetings if you want, just like security does. Or not, it doesn't matter to me. During summer holidays and other vacationy type times, we'll handwave that Amy and Martha and/or Nita and Jane take more hours for child watching. Or hire another person for summer.
Phew, good thing Tom has plenty of gold in his Gringott's vault! This has been fun! if anyone has questions, or needs direction as to the children's handwaved education, please let Kate or me know.
