In the sitting room

Nov 16, 2005 19:03

Susan is busy sewing in the sitting room of the Narnia wing of the House of Arch. She has her first comission - a series of winter gowns for the Marylebone. The Marylebone was not a church district, as Susan thought when the Lady Door first mentioned her, but instead the title of one of the few traditionally female-lead fiefdoms in London Below. The lady herself was quite lovely, if terribly crass and most garish.

One of the white, fur-trimmed dresses could have been worn by Jadis, but Susan wouldn't say such a thing to a paying customer.

In any case, she is quite pleased as the gown takes shape on the dressmakers dummy. She adds enough of her own touches to add class to the dress. It will be lovely once finished.
