An owl from Tom arrives in the guest room

Sep 19, 2004 11:45

An owl flies through the painting into the guest room where Anakin has spent the night. Attached to its talon is a roll of parchment, and the owl has been given instructions to be as obvious as possible that it carries a message, since Tom didn't remember mentioning to Anakin how owls were used in his world.

The letter reads:

Dear Anakin,

I hope you passed the night in comfort of body, if not in spirit. I also hope the morning finds you in better spirits. Once again, I apologize for not being the comfort you needed last night. I tried, but I fear I am still not well equipped to deal with strong emotions -especially ones that reflect my darkest fears and secrets.

Anakin, I consider you a friend, and I hope you will consider me in the same way. Remember, here we are not the people we once were.

When you are ready to move about, send the owl back to me. All it needs is a vocal command. I will come for you and take you where you'd like to go. However, if you would consider it, I would like to extend to you the offer of remaining in the House of Arch. We have plenty of rooms, and you are welcome to one. I find that having a home has made the changes in my life much more bearable.

Please consider it. I would very much like to have you here.

Sincerely,
Tom
