Summary: This story takes place in the Sixth Doctor's missing year. He picks up a young American man with a smart mouth and clever mind a young man called Greg House.
The boy is sixteen, he’s just gotten into yet another fight with his father. It ended with his father giving him a black eye. Maybe he deserved it, because the boy does have a smart mouth. Instead of sitting in the kitchen of their house and nursing his eye. He leaves, taking the car and driving off to a place in the woods where he hid a six pack. Maybe after a few beers things won’t be so bad. He goes to the woods, and sits and drinks. The day is dimming, night is coming on. When suddenly he sees strange lights in the distance, flashing through the woods. Green, yellow and white lights. He gets up and follows the lights.
He doesn’t believe his eyes when he gets there because there are people about four foot high and bright green with skin and silver uniforms that shimmer. They are gathered around a bunker. This must be a movie, it can’t be real. He steps out and the strange people chitter and chirrup at him.
“Cut out the alien act, I know this movie,” He says.
Then he realizes that he can’t see a film crew any where. The blast from the energy weapon is very real. He wakes up, in a cell. And he isn’t alone. There is a man with blond hair and the most hideous outfit he’s ever seen. And a woman with brown hair and a kickin’ curves. She’s leaning over him he can see down her low cut shirt.
“Are you alright?” she asks.
“It was just a energy pulse, Peri he should be perfectly fine.” The man says. He has a British accent.
“I’m fine now that you’re here, I think I’ll just lay back and admire the view.” He says to her.
Peri stands up.
“Hey, where you going jugs?” asks the boy.
“Well, I think we’ve done it Doctor, we met someone ruder than you,” Peri says.
“I’ll ignore that remark for now,” The Doctor says. “We have work to do.”
“What sort of work?” asks the boy.
“Get out of this cell for a start,” The Doctor says. “Then I have to shut down the trans-spacial portal before the veloyonlian invasion arrives.”
“If they are invading why are they leaving us alive?” asks the boy.
“Well what did you say your name was---?
“Greg.”
“Well, Greg the Veloyonlians are very curious race, I suspect they are keeping alive as future test subjects for their scientists. And I don’t relish the idea of being vivisected.” The Doctor said.
