30 Days of Huddy, Day Three

It's Day 3 of 30 Days of Huddy!  Thanks to everyone who has participated so far.  I'm loving all of the comments the discussion questions are getting.  It's great to hear everyone's thoughts.  Remember: you can always go back and do prompts as well as answer discussion questions.

I enjoyed the Cuddy-Lucas flirtation in season 5; there seemed to be some palpable chemistry in those scripts that never came across during their relationship arc. Thinking back, it would have been more interesting to see it fully played out in season 5, before House had more or less revealed his feelings for Cuddy in the form of an elaborate hallucination. And at that point, Lucas' presence would have created another, more layered kind of tension: the same guy who helps House win his best friend back (good guy) also simultaneously muscles in on his woman (bad guy ( ... )

I got the Lydia thing. House was completely out of his comfort zone, in a whole new setting, which made it easier for him to open up. It also showed the viewer that House was making steps towards change, and without the Lydia storyline we wouldn't have seen House's subsequent pursuit of Cuddy as viable. It made scenes such as "what about us?" and "that's the last thing I want us to be" more believable.
