TODAY'S THE BLOODY DAY!!!!!11

My imagination is seriously limited today, so I literally typed 'House and Cuddy' in to Google Images and took my pick of the selection. Absolutely love this scene. One of the best moments of Season 6 as I really think House steps up to the mark for her. This is the point, IMHO, at which Cuddy really starts to second guess herself on the whole ( Read more... )

This is a screencap of one of my favorite House/Cuddy moment. I loved that she stayed by his side all night. I feel that she was holding his hand to reassure herself that he was ok. It was a clear example of how he meant more to her than just an employee or hospital asset. She wouldn't be at the bedside of any other employee.

Can you imagine House letting anyone else hold his hand? Yes, his thoughts were filled with worry over the Wilson situation and guilt over Amber. Still, he had to have felt comfortable in Cuddy's presence to allow himself to be deep in thought while she held his hand.

Yep. That's why this one is my favorite, too.

He doesn't let go.

This man, who can be so prickly, so painfully distant, with a startle reflex a mile wide - allows her to hold his hand, and doesn't let go.

For him, that's as good as seeking her out and clinging to her, you know?

I *adore* how the symbolism of hand-holding is woven throughout this series, for these characters.

This is such a great scene. I got a sense at this point in the series that House didn't fully appreciate how much Cuddy was there for him, but after this (and of course his fallout with Wilson) they had a real turning point, which led to some great moments in season five.

It really is the catalyst. It was cat-and-mouse, it was flirtation and attraction and sexual banter before, with some deeply caring moments too, it's true, but - you're absolutely right, this was the turning point.
