Challenge : Not Written for a Challenge
Title: Drink and the Devil (House, a little Wilson, offstage--Stacy)
Words: 100
A/N: a little bit ago, I confused the tww100 challenge otw ('alcohol') with the challenge for this community. The result was this odd little drabble and, since things are slow, I'm jumping on the recent not-for-challenge bandwagon and posting it anyway.
House drinks expensive whiskey and beer so cheap that, in someone else, Wilson might suspect nostalgia for college frat parties. Although
not a big fan of mixed drinks, when he lived with Stacy, House used to revive obscure, complicated cocktails with long-forgotten histories
and Cole Porter names for her frequent dinner parties. The Luna Park Martini. The Roosevelt Squash. The Ritz .77, a champagne and
gin concoction named after First World War artillery, was a universal crowd favorite. Those parties featured the only traditional formality
House has ever tolerated-his own bizarre pre-dinner toast: “to the confusion of our enemies.”
