Faith forced herself to focus on the DVD player and TV in front of her. She hooked up wires, inserted a CD and made sure the microphones were working. The living room beyond her was a circus of noise. Ciara and Claire danced around like ballerinas. Winter was teaching Julia patty cake, while Zack and Matthew played with Legos. Her mom had Baby Katie. JJ and Abby sat next to Faith, reading instructions to her.

"Okay!" she exclaimed, causing everyone to stop abruptly. "Karaoke time is ready to go. So, who's first?" she grinned, looking around.
