Okay. Heartwarmth. Yesterday at work, we were cheering on this pair of little boys playing the Captain America machine. We wanted the money, but under that, it's also a good memory those boys are going to have. We said if they won, we'd put their names up on the store's marquee outside. Mostly as a feint incentive. Well, today one of the boys came in. He asked me very earnestly "Have you guys put the sign up yet?" I couldn't help but snicker a little bit. Then he said that he was bringing his Grandmother to see it. She wasn't going to be in town long. Ryan, my boss, was standing behind me, and he said "Well, I'm waiting on the letters, the company has to send them" to deflect the boy. He said to tell her they'd be here by monday. Well, about a minute after the boy left, I said "I feel really bad now." Ryan then went into the back room and said "I should probably put it up, shouldn't I?"
Ten minutes later, as he was putting the last letter up, the boy and his grandmother pulled up.
We're all such softies.
.Has anyone ever seen
Donnie Darko? I fear for my disconnected brethren, and timespace.
