My First Icon Tutorial!

Well, here it goes for my first tutorial.
This is for PSP 8, it has no curves or anything like that. I don't know how well this would translate, if it works well on another program, please tell me so I can stick it up here!

In eight simple steps.



All right, so take your base image, I'll be using this.


Duplicate the base, twice. Set the first duplicated layer to screen 100%, and the second to Screen 45-50%.


Next create a new layer set to Exclusion 100%, and fill it with a nice dark blue color, I used #0A1B64


Then duplicate one of your screen layers and drag it to the top, set it at 100%


Now, duplicate your base and drag it to the top. Set it to Overlay 100%, and use the Gaussion Blur effect at 7.0.


Next create a new layer and set it to Saturation(Legacy). Fill it with a light pink/red color. I used #F7DDEA


Now go Edit > Copy Merged, then Paste as New Layer. Set it on Hard Light at 62%


And finally, delete the layer with the light pink, and you will have this, hopefully.
