“Should New Hires Sign a Noncompete Pact?” by Kris Maher

A Non-Compete Agreement is when a contract under law agrees not to pursue a similar trade or similar competition against another party. In November 2002 something like this happened to Frank Cumbo and ten of his colleagues. He and his colleagues left a New York business to start there own, and that’s when their old employer sued them for attempting to solicit a business from their original clients. Non-Compete Agreement is bound by traditional contract requirements including a including the consideration doctrine.
